TargetProcess 2.4 New Features

All the features described below appeared in TargetProcess 2.4 (May-3)

Custom Terminology (SCRUM, XP or any other in-house process)

Now you may customize terminology for each process. For example, you may create terminology for SCRUM or any other process you have. The following terms may be changed:

For example, if you replace Iteration with Sprint you will not see the word Iteration inside project area, but only the word Sprint.

In addition, you may have different terms for different projects. It may be useful if company has many teams which use different processes. One team may use Extreme Programming, while another team may use SCRUM. It is possible to create two different processes with different terms.

Task Board

Task Board is an area that powers effective tasks management. When all User Stories are set for iteration, it is the best place to manage tasks.

Task Board enables the following actions

You can customize the Task Board view. You can setup a very simple layout with minimal detail or a complex one with many details.

Impediments Management

An Impediment (or Block) is an obstacle that prevents User Story/Task/Bug completion. For example, you may have Impediments such as these:

TargetProcess provides the functionality to manage Impediments in your project.

Combined Reports

Now you may generate combined reports for several projects. There are three combined reports available:

These reports can be adapted for printing. You may click File -> Print Preview in your Web browser to see how the report will be printed.

New Reports (Bugs Burn Down by State)

There are two new reports in TargetProcess 2.4: Bugs Burn Down by State and User Stories Burn Down by State. The Bugs Burn Down by States chart shows bugs in different states for various dates. It clearly shows the bug fixing/verification dynamic.

Split User Story

Sometimes you may need to split a large User Story into two smaller User Stories. TargetProcess now provides such functionality.

Finish Latest Iteration

When the iteration end date has passed, you may still have open User Stories. Usually you want to move all open User Stories to the next iteration. TargetProcess can do that for you.
