Your personal ToDo list shows you the work items you’re responsible for among all selected Portfolios (Projects) and Teams. However, this may make your ToDo list a little bit messy. The following productivity tips may help you to organize your personal ToDo list views and keep them in order.
Customize Cards
To be able to quickly recognize what item belongs to what Portfolio (Project), add a unit showing Portfolio (Project) name, abbreviation or color onto cards of your work items use Customize Cards feature. If you’re a member of several Teams at a time, add the same unit to distinguish Teams as well. Setup catchy colors for Portfolios (Projects) and icons for Teams in advance to let them serve as clear visual discriminators.
Use Portfolios (Projects) as Lanes
Edit View settings, then select Portfolio (Project) or Team as a horizontal lane on Setup tab. Add ?it is not None
filter to hide No Portfolio (Project) Project or No Team row from your board view.
With these setup settings cards on your ToDo list view will be distributed by Portfolios (Projects) or Teams.
Create Views with saved Portfolios (Projects) and Teams selection
Set default portfolios (projects) and teams to let your ToDo list keep showing items from these particular Portfolios (Projects) and Teams only, regardless of what has been chosen on the top left selector. This is very helpful when you want to have separate ToDo lists, say, for Portfolio (Project) A and Portfolio (Project) B and quickly switch between these two views and other ones you might have.
