Solution overview
This solution allows considering Time Offs (Vacations, Sick Leaves, and Public Holidays) which people take over time in their Available and Reserved Capacity.
When the solution is installed you'll see a new Working Days field on a Time Off view. It'll calculate how many working days a Time Off includes (excluding weekends). You'll also see the Demands tab, where Demands will be generated for each Period (Month, Quarter, or Year), which a Time Off passes through. For each Demand we'll see the Percentage of capacity reserved by a Time Off. Percentage is calculated based on the number of working days, which a person going to be off, and the number of working days in a Period.
This Percentage will affect a person's Reserved Capacity for the related Periods and calculated Available Capacity based on it.
In case you use User Capacity Demand and Allocation it'll show that people are going to be not available or will have less capacity to be allocated to work.
Solution Configuration
Calculate Working Days
First, we need to calculate Working Days for Time Off entities (Vacation/SickLeave/PublicHoliday) as well as for Demands and respective Periods (Years, Quarters, Months or Weeks). To do that:
- Make sure Working Days (7fe5edc0-360f-4fca-9eec-05d754a89fe8) solution is installed.
- Configure it for Planned Start/End Dates for Vacations, Sick Leaves, Public Holidays, Demands and Periods, as described in the solution description.
Configure the solution for correct Periods
The solution is configured to use Month Period by default. In case you use a different type of Period in Availabilities solution, you need to adjust Generate Demands when Vacation/SickLeave/PublicHoliday are created Automation Rule.
In case it is installed together with User Capacity Demand and Allocation solution, Period should also be adjusted accordingly (both solutions should use the same Period). It can be adjusted in the Generate Demands and connect Periods based on the Planned Start / Planned End Date of Work Allocation (Periods) for Connected User rule.
