Custom Activities are special kind of personal private tasks. They group together time spent records not related to any regular work items such as user stories, tasks, bugs, requests.
We recommend to use Custom Activities to track time spent on meetings, correspondence or any other personal activity not related to work items directly.
Custom Activities can be added on Time Sheet page.
Once a Custom Activity is added, users are able to post time spent records to the activity. The activity appears as an option in the Select Custom Activity created before selector. Custom Activities are related to a single Project and a user. Custom Activities are personal and cannot be shared by multiple users.
A Custom Activity can be deleted. Delete link is displayed near activity name in the Time Sheet.
When a Custom Activity is deleted, time spent records posted to the activity remain. However the details about origin custom activity are lost, and all the time records become listed as related to an Unknown Activity.
A Custom Activity has an Estimate field. It allows to input remaining time. Once a time spent record is posted, remaining time is decreased.
Time added to a Custom Activity does not affect project progress in any way.
Tabular reports by Time entity allow to extract details of related Custom Activity for each Time record.
Custom Activity itself can be selected as base entity for a tabular report. Inner list with Time entities can be embedded to the report by Custom Activities.
Custom Activity field is supported in Visual Reports based on Time entities. In order to filter out Times posted to Custom Activities, apply the following filter:
